Canadian Use of Force Systems provides a Pistol Disarming and Retention Tactics Program that is based on achieving negative tracking and positive control as quickly as possible. Explosive response, linear entry, execution and finish must be maintained to ensure a weapon is neutralized and controlled as quickly as possible. Movement must be initiated with non-telegraphic, loose and fast hands as the body moves at a much slower rate thereby risking significant injury if it is relied upon as a primary intervention movement to redirect, trap or to purchase the weapon.
Relying upon bio-mechanics and the physiological responses of the nervous system, Canadian Use of Force Systems has compiled a Pistol Disarming and Retention Tactics program that can be learned in a short-duration, high-retention and low maintenance training format. Tactics must be simple, principle based and easy to maintain and apply if they are going to prove effective in a high-stress encounter.
Our “Pistol Disarming and Retention Tactics” Program is taught in a seminar format. Where applicable students train against motivated attackers in professional FIST training suits. Please contact us for more details on how to attend a seminar in your area.
