Projectile weapons by nature only allow for defensive, redirection, disarming or control responses in close-quarter. It takes a fraction of a second for a trigger pull and within intermediate or external range it is practically impossible to disarm or control unless improvised distractionary objects are thrown and evasive tactics are engaged.
The Canadian Use of Force Systems Long Gun
Disarming and Retention Program focuses on teaching the student how to respond instantly from positions in which their nervous
system will take them under stress to redirect and close the gap on an aggressor. Once inside their attackers weapons range
nervous
system controls are initiated to immediately cause the attacker to “quarrel” with his own nervous system responses thus provide a
window for the defender to apply aggressive force options and to achieve positive control of the weapon.
Our “Long Gun Disarming and Retention Tactics” program is taught in a seminar format. Where applicable students train against motivated attackers in professional FIST training suits. Please contact us for more details on how to attend a seminar in your area.
